Well I’ll be damned.
My last blog post was nearly three years ago, back in January of 2017. Sometimes I forget that I have a blog. But I definitely don’t forget about the passive income that it generates, even though my lack of blogging has caused this stream to nearly dry up.
Anywho, a lot has happened in these last three years. I ventured out on my own with my business thus I now have no partners (outgrew the training wheels). I had a go with another girlfriend, only to get caught in somewhat of a love triangle (now with neither of them). I traveled to Thailand for some much needed rest & relaxation only to end up in the ER needing an emergency surgery (that appendix had to go). I got an Illinois medical cannabis card (Kush it to the limit). And I flirted with alcoholism during a few spells unknowingly being likened to a modern-day Hunter S. Thompson (no bueno). Just a few of my highlights from the last three laps around the sun.
Today, I write from a Panera Bread in a south suburb of Chicago. It’s Saturday, October 19th and I’m feeling brand new. I’ve been participating in “Sober October” for the last 19 days. This means no weed or alcohol for the entire month. I’ve done this before, just not in October. And I must say, it’s very much necessary periodically (like at least twice a year). It feels good to give your body a chance to reset, detox, and re-acclimate to not being under the influence of anything. I ain’t give up caffeine though. Coffee is a huge part of my intermittent fasting regimen and it’s just plain delicious now that I’ve acquired a taste for it. Side bar: I started drinking coffee at the ripe age of 33 to replace a killer Red Bull habit. And by drinking a half-dozen of them a day in attempt to cheat sleep, I do mean killer. I can only stand about two cups of coffee a day, problem solved. With all of that being said, 12 short days left until the turn-up resumes.
